Week 13- UCLA at USC

Easily the most challenging week to pick one game to attend. Don’t you wish there could be a morning edition or GameDay and an evening edition so ESPN can be at two places on the same day? Why not do it for Rivalry Week and put two crews out there and get this done. Don’t you want to see more of Sam Ponder or Kaylee Hartung anyway?

I’m not paying the ESPN talent so I’m putting them to work this week. There’s a Friday night game with Baylor at TCU that figures to decide the Big 12 champ and if they’ll get a College Football Playoff team this year, but it’s a Friday and in real life we’re not gonna get that to happen.

But on Saturday we have The Game with Ohio State at Michigan, the Iron Bowl sees Alabama at Auburn and UCLA at USC playing for the Victory Bell to highlight the day’s action.

Whoever gets this week will be hosting for the second time this year, but I doubt ESPN would go to Ohio State on back-to-back weekends unless the Buckeyes and Wolverines were both undefeated, but the latter doesn’t seem likely. So they’re out.

The Iron Bowl has hosted GameDay each of the last two years and I wouldn’t bet against a third year but I’m going to show some love to the two Pac-12 teams who are national title contenders in their own right and I think this game is going to intensify this rivalry with both teams recruiting and playing at a high level this year and for years to come.
