Week 4- Mississippi State at Auburn
At the time of publishing the Week 4 games don’t have assigned TV networks yet so there is a little more projecting which games will be on the ESPN family of networks moving forward. So moving forward it will be more about the best games without the prerequisite that the game be featured on their networks.
A pair of Pac-12 games will be options with UCLA at Arizona and USC at Arizona State and a pair of SEC contests with Mississippi State at Auburn and Tennessee visiting Florida are the top four options this week.
Arizona and Arizona State have played in the Pac-12 Championship Game each of the last two years and haven’t hosted since 2009 and 2005, respectively, so it looks like ESPN doesn’t favor heading to The Grand Canyon State, making Auburn and Florida the most likely destinations.
Florida has hosted 12 times and Auburn nine times but neither hosted last year. If Tennessee beats Oklahoma in Week 2 and Florida looks improved under Jim McElwain this could be a great opportunity to showcase the two SEC east teams.
But I’m going to the Plains for Auburn and Mississippi State in a rematch of the game that saw the Bulldogs upset the Tigers last year to move up to the No. 1 ranking in the polls for the first time in program history.
