T10. Sefo Liufau to Nelson Spruce – Colorado Buffaloes
The Colorado Buffaloes haven’t had much success since Gary Barnett shared or won the Big 12 north title in four of his last five seasons in Boulder from 2001-2005, but there’s two stars there now in Nelson Spruce and Sefo Liufao.
They may be one of the best kept secrets in college football but Liufao completed 65.5 percent of his passes last year for 3,200 yards and 28 touchdowns with 12 going to Spruce.
Spruce finished in a three-way tie for the fourth most receptions last year with 106, tying the number by Vince Mayle and Tyler Lockett. His 1,198 yards were tied for 13th in the nation and he had eight games with at least 89 yards. Only two of his 12 touchdowns came in the last seven games so if the duo can avoid fading down the stretch there is a legit possibility to have 120 catches for 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns between them this year.
