These 10 college football head coaches enter the 2015 season without much job security and are firmly on the hot seat.
Coaches are hired just so they can be fired one day and while that’s a tough way to make a living, it comes with the territory, especially in the non-stop arms race that is college football.

We saw Gene Chizik lead the Auburn Tigers to the national championship and lose his job two years later in an industry where the phrase, “what have you done for me lately” has never been more fitting as most coaches are essentially living on one-year deals.

For every Nick Saban or Urban Meyer who will never be fired from their current jobs, there are a dozen other coaches across the country who are given their pink slip before their first recruiting class has even crossed the stage at their graduation.
Coaching college football may be the toughest job in sports when you factor in all that’s asked of you, but there are plenty who aren’t up to the task and find themselves on the hot seat and fighting for their coaching lives.
