No. 10: David Greene – Georgia Bulldogs

Draft Year/Round: 2005/3rd Round (85th overall)
Drafted By: Seattle Seahawks

Not a lot of people may remember just how good David Greene was during his four years at Georgia. At the time he left school, he was the all-time winningest quarterback in NCAA history, as well has holding several other SEC and national records. He also led the Bulldogs to an SEC title.

Nobody looked at Greene as a guy who was going to step in and be a franchise-changer, but certainly a QB of his caliber could become a top starter in the league, or at least that’s what the Seattle Sehawks thought.

Greene spent two seasons in Seattle, and then another split between the Chiefs and the Patriots, finishing his final year of NFL time with the Colts. He never did more than play with a practice squad, and never had a single starting opportunity. Was he a bust because of lack of talent, or because he was never given the chance?
