No. 9: Eric Crouch – Nebraska Cornhuskers

Draft Year/Round: 2002/3rd Round (95th overall)
Drafted By: St. Louis Rams

Despite numerous collegiate accolades, and a list of impressive records that were set during his time at Nebraska, nobody was quite sure what to make of Crouch, who was one of the early examples of the dual-threat quarterback.

But his success on the field — along with a Heisman, O’Brien, and Camp awards in 2001 — had NFL teams curious as to what he could bring to the table. The Rams drafted him with thoughts of turning him into a wide receiver and dual offensive threat, but Crouch had his heart set on playing quarterback.

Crouch labored through four seasons in the NFL and NFL Europe, before finally moving on to the CFL, and than finishing his career with the UFL and AAFL in 2011. It’s hard to say what his career may have turned out to be had he gone with the Rams plan of playing wideout.
