Jim Harbaugh may not be the best radio interview (as seen in the link above) but nobody will doubt the man’s ability to motivate players and to get people to buy into his system. He’s got the perfect personality for college football recruiting, and now Michigan is beginning to reap those benefits.

6-foot-1 wide receiver Brad Hawkins (Camden, N.J./Camden HS) has given his commitment to the Wolverines for the 2016 season, coming in as the No. 7 overall player in the state and the No. 38 wide receiver in the country according to 247 Sports composite rankings.

The speedy Hawkins also plays safety, and could become the type of versatile, iron-man player that Harbaugh loves. This makes 21 total recruits for Michigan’s 2016 class — nine of them 4-star players — giving them the No. 6 class in the nation currently.

This could turn out to be a very impressive class for Harbaugh’s first full year of recruiting.

Check out Hawkins’ HUDL video below. On defense, he has excellent ball hawk skills and deceptive speed for his size. His footwork is reminiscent of a bigger version of Tyrann Mathieu, with lots of great moves and elusiveness.

On offense, Hawkins has a nice burst off the line and very soft hands. He runs crisp routes for someone his age, and brings the ball to his body using his hands well. His frame seems pretty solid for a high school player as well.

It’s no wonder he’s known as “Big Play Brad”.

A great pickup for Harbaugh and the Wolverines that could turn out to be one of the best players in the 2016 class
