Report: FSU Running Back Dalvin Cook to be arrested on battery charge
Dalvin Cook, a running back who was a big part of the Florida State Seminoles offense last season, is reportedly to be arrested on the charges of battery in connection with an incident at a bar last month.

Perhaps FSU players just need to stay out of bars? This is the second arrest of this type in the last few weeks, with now dismissed quarterback De’Andre Johnson being charged with battery in a similar incident.

According to a report from ESPN.com, a warrant is being issued for Cook’s arrest on the charge of misdemeanor battery. The Tallahassee Democrat reported earlier that Cook was under investigation for the battery of a 21-year-old woman outside of a Tallahassee bar on June 23.
Cook is accused of punching the woman “in the face several times.” State Attorney Willie Meggs reviewed photos of the woman’s injuries and told ESPN he “found the women to be very credible.” All media outlets are stating that the police report is heavily redacted, but that it does say that the alleged victim was intoxicated and suffered minor abrasions/bruises from the incident.
Most importantly, the report states that the alleged victim was able to identify the suspect (Cook) and plans to press charges.
This all sounds eerily similar the incident involving Johnson (which incidentally happened only one day after this incident involving Cook), who also was seen on video hitting a young woman in the face inside a bar, and means more unwanted attention for Jimbo Fisher’s Seminoles.
Losing Johnson was a minor inconvenience to the Seminoles, but if Cook is similarly dismissed, that would be a huge blow to their offense, as Cook rushed for 1,008 yards and eight touchdowns as a freshman last season, including three straight 100-plus yard rushing games to close out the season.
The school has announced that Cook is suspended indefinitely, but it would be reasonable to assume that if more hard evidence comes to light or the case becomes more involved that he will suffer the same fate as Johnson.
Things seem to be getting out of hand in Tallahassee once again.
