Les Miles is one of the coaches you kinda just look at from time to time and think, why? The man enjoys eating grass and some of his coaching decisions truly makes you question his intelligence, but he’s a national champion and one of the better coaches in the nation.

After Nick Saban left LSU for the Miami Dolphins, Miles was hired away from Oklahoma State, where he coached four underwhelming seasons and was also the focal point of an NCAA investigation.

Miles inherited an extremely talented Saban team upon arrival, as Miles’ Tigers lost only six games in his first three seasons at the helm. Miles won his first national title in year three when his Tigers defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes, 38-24.

Miles is a good coach, one of the better coaches in the country, but he has his critics. In the end, though, Miles wins games, and in college football, that pays the bills.

Johnny Jones arrived at LSU in 2012, and has been subtly improving the Tigers since. Jones came to Baton Rouge from North Texas, where he made two NCAA Tournament appearances by way of winning conference tournaments.

Jones hasn’t had an overwhelming amount of success in Baton Rouge, but his team has shown improvement each season, with an NCAA Tournament appearance this past season.

LSU, in recent years, hasn’t been a school known for its basketball program, but with Jones at the helm and the addition of the nation’s top recruit, Ben Simmons, according to 247sports, LSU basketball could become a bigger deal in years to come.
