The Auburn Tigers were picked to win the SEC by the media members present at SEC Media Days.

SEC Media Days wrapped up on Thursday and that means continuing the 23-year tradition of the media members in attendance to cast their ballots and predict the winners of the SEC east and west and the conference champion.

Five times in the 23 years the poll has been taken has the media been correct in their preseason prediction, but the media did correctly predict the Alabama Crimson Tide would be the SEC champions.

This year, Alabama is predicted to win the west division with Auburn picked to be the runner-up but the Tigers received more first-place votes.

This is the first time in the 23-year history of the poll that the overall SEC champion was not picked to win the division, however, as Auburn is picked to win the SEC Championship Game over the east champion, Georgia.

The media is expecting a bounce-back year for LSU and is expecting Arkansas to have its strongest year under Bret Bielema, but aren’t buying Mississippi State will do what they did last year when they were ranked No. 1 in the nation and have the Bulldogs in last place.
