Armed with the Big 12’s best passing combination and a 1,000-yard running back in Shock Linwood and an All-American left tackle in Spencer Drango, you better believe the Baylor offense will be among the leaders in points per game again this year after leading the nation last year.

Seth Russell

QB, Baylor

Ever since Art Briles was hired as the head coach at Baylor it hasn’t mattered who his quarterback has been, because the system has been conducive to producing monster passing numbers. From Robert Griffin III to Nick Florence to Bryce Petty, the Bears have been able to reload without missing a beat and that should continue with Seth Russell getting his first year to start.

Russell won’t be making his first start, however, this year after he made his first career start in relief of an injured Petty against Northwestern St. and all he did was throw for 438 yards and five touchdowns. Sure, it was against an inferior opponent, but the arm talent is there and he has two dynamic weapons in Corey Coleman and KD Cannon.
