Youth will be served as these 10 freshmen are poised for big roles for their college football teams this year. Did your favorite freshman make the cut?

It’s a new era of college football where freshmen are asked to play big roles in their first season on campus and no longer have the benefit of a redshirt season to get acclimated to the college game.

As a result, we’ve seen freshmen like Samaje Perine, Nick Chubb, Myles Garrett and Cam Robinson not just start as freshmen but be among their team’s best players as freshmen.

It’s a quick turnaround to go from your high school prom to starting against the likes of Alabama, Ohio State or USC as a precocious teenager, but that’s the landscape of major college football.

Recruits are promised early playing time and commit in part because of that, but these 10 freshmen will not only have early playing time, they’ll look to follow the path set by Perine, Chubb, Garrett and Robinson and be Freshmen All-Americans.
