There it is! Finally a traditional rivalry game appears on our list.

Now, this game hasn’t always been easy to watch. Last season’s 10-9 non-thriller was borderline painful. And if you’re a Volunteers fan, this particular game hasn’t been easy to watch since 2004, which is the last time Tennessee won. That’s right, through the good and the bad, the ups and the downs, Florida’s at least been consistent in one thing and that’s beating Tennessee.

With that being said, the Volunteers have a lot going for them this year. The media announced during SEC Media Days that it expects Tennessee to finish second in the SEC East. Other analysts predict an even better result to the Volunteers’ season. Quarterback Joshua Dobbs has run in the elite SEC quarterback tier of conversations all offseason. Everything is clicking into place for Butch Jones. The Tennessee Volunteers have arrived.

Unfortunately, the Gators are standing in their way, and will be for perpetuity. And this season, the game takes place in Gainesville, which means the Gators are already eagerly waiting to greet the Volunteers teeth first.

At this point, it’s a psychological thing. But mindset can be hard to shake in college football.
