1. Florida vs. South Carolina
It’s always worth watching the Head Ball Coach play his old team.
Steve Spurrier is feeling some pressure this year after his team’s subpar performance in 2014; the Gamecocks actually finished below the Gators in the SEC East standings. In particular, South Carolina’s defense was terrible, allowing teams like Kentucky, Tennessee, and Texas A&M to rack up 40 and 50 points in a game.

As expected, Spurrier has actively worked to remedy the defensive situation, including hiring a second defensive coordinator. By the time the Gators come to town in mid-November, that defense should be up and running. Florida’s offensive line will need to prepare to face a strong defense if they don’t want to be over run.
But perhaps even more exciting than seeing which weak squad should win Most Improved from 2014 is the quarterback battle. Florida and South Carolina are in similar places now with undecided starting quarterbacks. A majority of the season will have passed by the time these two teams meet up, which means the amount of development for each quarterback should have been about equal. So which team has the better arm? This game will tell us.
