Though they’ve been accused of mucking it up in recent seasons with navy blue everything in 2012, the “LA Midnight” alternates of 2013 or the “LA Steel” set last season, UCLA has one of the most beautiful, traditional standard uniform sets in college football today. However, as the Bruins showed in 2009, it’s possible they can look even better.

Gary Beban was the first and only UCLA football player to win the Heisman Trophy in 1967, and to honor the former UCLA quarterback during the team’s 2009 Homecoming game against Washington, the Bruins wore 1960s era uniforms. The powder blue jerseys featured white stripes on the shoulders and retro numbers in all white. The helmet was a plain gold shell without the now common UCLA script on the side.
