Virginia Tech at Boston College-October 31

In what is a Halloween affair, the Eagles hope there are no tricks involved. The last time these two teams squared off was last season in a November 1 contest that the eagles won by a narrow 33-31 margin. Tyler Murphy passed for 110 yards and ran for 127 to pave the way for a victory and send the Hokie faithful home unhappy.

In a series that began in 1993 with a 48-34 Boston College win, the two teams have been apart of some exciting contests. From the comeback victory in 2007 for the Eagles in Blacksburg to a 30-12 win for the Hokies in the ACC Championship game, to say that these teams are familiar with each other is an understatement. Virginia Tech leads the all-time series 15-8 a mark that includes five straight Hokie wins spanning from the ACC Championship game to November 17, 2012.

Given the history between the two teams and this game marking the the end of conference play, this game may mean more than we think. If last year’s game is any indication, it will be one filled will offense. Last year’s contest yielded 782 total yards of offense including 345 passing yards on the part of the Hokies and 268 rushing yards from the Eagles.

Why is this a must-see game? It will be a contest fought til the final whistle between two in-conference foes. Bowl -eligibility may be on the line and it could be a game decided by a play or two.
