The preseason polls are out and the SEC is littered throughout the top 25, but these four teams are ranked on reputation and are highly overrated.

By now you’ve had time to digest the SEC Media Day preseason predictions and the Amway preseason coaches poll. It’s well documented that Georgia is the favorite for the East and while Auburn is predicted to win the SEC, Alabama got the nod in the west, which I still cannot figure out how that is possible, but I digress.

We also know that eight teams are ranked in the coaches preseason top 25.  Just for a refresher, here is how the SEC teams are ranked in the preseason poll.

  1. Alabama
  2. Auburn
  3. Georgia
  4. LSU
  5. Ole Miss
  6. Arkansas
  7. Missouri
  8. Tennessee

Mississippi State and Texas A&M were the first ones out of the poll, which means 10 teams ranked in the top 30 in the country.

Now, if you talk to everyone outside of Vanderbilt and Kentucky fans, every team is going to win nine or 10 games and represent their division in the SEC Championship. Obviously, that is neither possible nor probable, which means several fan bases will be left heartbroken, have dreams shattered and left to wonder what just happened.

It also means coaches will be ridiculed, decisions will be questioned and players will be scrutinized via social media. So who are the teams that will not meet expectations this year and just who is pretending to be contending?

Today we take a look at four SEC teams in the preseason top 25 that could be vastly overrated in 2015.
