One position that Ohio State has issues at is cornerback. Doran Grant graduated after helping to lead Ohio State to the national championship and was drafted into the NFL. Eli Apple is returning after starting every game last year for OSU. That leaves an open spot opposite of Apple. The nickelback is also open after last years nickelback Armani Reeves has retired due to medical issues.

Gareon Conley likely has the other corner spot locked up heading into fall camp, but his backup and the nickel spot are up for grabs. Enter into the fray redshirt freshman Marshon Lattimore, who was ranked as a top 100 player in the country and a four-star coming out of Glenville High School in Cleveland.

Marshon Lattimore had to sit out last year due to recurring hamstring injuries that eventually led to surgery during last fall’s camp. Lattimore hasn’t seen the football field in over 18 months and has some rust to knock off before he will be fully ready to participate. Lattimore is an athlete and could play on either side of the ball. He has the hands of a wide receiver and the hips of a cornerback which makes him the perfect defensive back. If he can get up to speed early in camp look for him to see the field in every game this season.
