J.T. Barrett is another of Urban Meyer’s seemingly endless supply of quality quarterbacks. What Georgia does for running backs, Ohio State does for QBs. But is Barrett even going to see much action this season?

Why Barrett won’t win it:

The first thing Barrett has to worry about before thinking Heisman is winning the starting QB job for the Buckeyes, and that may not be easy given the competition or coming back from a serious injury.

The rest is gravy.

But seriously, he’s in a heated competition with Cardale Jones, and it’s going to be hard to unseat the guy who manhandled Michigan State, Alabama and Oregon coming off the bench. The problem is he’ll probably end up either as a backup (which history shows may not be such a bad thing as tOSU), or in a quarterback rotation with Jones – neither of which is very conducive to a Heisman campaign.

The chances of any quarterback coming out of Columbus, Oh. and winning the Heisman aren’t great, and for Barrett those odds are even slimmer.
