On Thursday, the uniforms the Eagles will be wearing for the “Shamrock Series” were unveiled, and they have a very Doug Flutie-esque feel to them.  If you do not know who that is, ask a Miami fan and I am sure they will be able to tell you.

The uniforms themselves were inspired by that magical game on November 23, 1984 in which Flutie hurled up a last-second touchdown pass to Gerard Phelan as the No. 10 Eagles stunned the No. 12 Miami Hurricanes 47-45.

The Boston College football program tweeted out a picture earlier on Thursday of the new digs.

It is worth noting that Boston College finished the 1984 season with a 10-2 record and defeated Houston in the Cotton Bowl by a 45-28 score on January 1 1985.

The stripes and the base layers of the uniforms as well as the throwback Eagle logo and Cotton Bowl logo share the same placement as the uniforms worn during the Miami game and the Cotton Bowl per a press release from the program. In addition the gold-colored pants will be the same as well.

For this game, the Eagles will also wear solid gold helmets.

In a game that already carries a classic feel to it, the uniforms will be a nice touch to what should be a game for the ages.
