What makes it great: The home of the Auburn Tigers, on game day Jordan-Hare Stadium becomes the fifth largest city in the state of Alabame, with more than 75,000 season tickets being sold every season over the last 18 years.

Greatest game played: On November 30th, 2013, the annual Iron Bowl between Auburn and the top ranked and undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide was held at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Alabama had won the national championship in 2009, 2011 and 2012, and Auburn had won in 2010. Additionally, Alabama had won a stellar 18 straight road games over a stretch that lasted just over three years.

Alabama was a prohibitive favorite coming into the game, with oddsmakers installing the Crimson Tide as a 10 point favorite. Alabama took a 21-7 lead late in the second quarter, and Auburn fought back to tie the game on a 39-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Nick Marshall to wide receiver Sammie Coates. On the ensuing possession, Alabama drove to Auburn’s 40 and attempted a 57-yard field goal.

The attempt fell short, and Auburn punt returner Chris Davis collected the ball and returned it for a touchdown as time expired to claim the 2013 Iron Bowl for the Tigers. Auburn went on to appear in the National Championship game against Florida State and fell just short by a final score of 34-31.
