What makes it great: Husky Stadium, the home of the Washington Huskies, is one of the few stadiums that is approachable by boat via Lake Washington. It is also allegedly the venue where “the wave” was created.
Husky Stadium is known to be a very loud stadium. About two-thirds of the stadium’s seats are located between the end zones, along the sidelines, and the stands are covered by metal roofs that hold in sound.
Greatest game played: On November 27, 2007, the annual Apple Bowl was played in Seattle at Husky Stadium. The Apple Bowl is the moniker for the rivalry between the Huskies and the Washington State Cougars. Historically, Washington has dominated the all-time series, leading 69-32-6.
On this day, however, Washington State would emerge victorious in a 42-35 contest. Cougar quarterback Alex Brink threw for 399 yards and five touchdown passes in his last collegiate game.
