SEC Football Preview: Five biggest questions for 2015
John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports
Fall is around the corner which means football is coming. Here are five key questions to ponder as the SEC enters the 2015 season.
You’ve almost made it. The start of the season is so close yet so far. I know you, and you have done the homework. You read the college football preview magazines, listened to podcasts (Solid Verbal happens to be my favorite) and even tried to make sense of Phil Steele’s various charts in his encyclopedia known as a preview magazine. For all this hard work you get…football. Well, not yet, but you will get it in less than two weeks.

While we wait, I propose we do an SEC football preview by looking at some of the biggest questions for those of us living in the South (either literally or in your heart). These are the questions that as Week One rolls around you will want to pay close attention to.
In many ways, they have been the stories of the offseason and chances are we have overreacted to many different things. That is what the offseason if for and who can blame us? It has been a long time since January 12th.
It seems inaccurate to call what the SEC is experiencing as a drought. To be honest, the conference experienced a lot more success in the past decade than many conferences do in a few decades. Simply put, the SEC has not won the past two national championships. That does not necessarily qualify as a drought but it does mean that the gap between the SEC and other conferences is closing.
As a fan of the sport of college football, I am okay with that because who wants to watch a movie when you already know the ending?
As the 2015 season approaches, no one knows the ending. Sure, we have some ideas and some will pound the table to defend theirs more than others, but we are all doing our best to offer informed opinions based on what we know. College football is a sport about what we don’t know. It is unpredictable and leaves us with many questions heading into the season.
As we offer a SEC football preview, here are the five questions you should be asking heading into the 2015 season. As always, you may have a few that I left off. Feel free to leave your opinions in the comment section or tweet me your thoughts.
