3. September 5 at Nebraska
BYU and Nebraska have never met in football. That is a travesty that will be fixed in just about a week. The two schools have each had their own share of success in the past and both schools are trying to get back to their glory days.
Nebraska has a new head coach in Mike Riley and he will bring a new offense and defense to the Cornhuskers. This game against Nebraska is full of unknowns for both schools. BYU and Nebraska both are dealing with suspensions and injuries. Both schools have exciting dual-threat quarterbacks in Hill and Tommie Armstrong.
Both schools need this win badly to help define their seasons. An early loss could be devastating for two schools that needs to get over a hump. Nebraska has seemingly won nine games every year forever. BYU has the same issue winning eight games a year forever. This early game could go a long way towards ending that for both schools.
The offense of BYU will have a chance to shine against Nebraska with a proud history of playing great defense. Hill will have to lead BYU to victory with so many players out and the unknown of who will play running back for the cougars. Nebraska will be playing at home in front of a decidedly Cornhusker crowd. Can the Cougars generate enough defense and prosper on offense to win a huge road game? Only time will tell and luckily that time is almost up.
