BUYING

The Bruins are a team you’d like to believe in and have ranked higher, but then you think about how inconsistent they were even with Brett Hundley playing quarterback, and how Jim Mora hasn’t seen more than a couple of successful seasons in any of his coaching stops.

UCLA Bruins

He’s heading into year four in UCLA with two 2nd place, 10-3 finishes. The Bruins may have hit the proverbial wall.

It’s amazing how far this program has come in just a few short years, and their recruiting successes alone are a tribute to that, but they still haven’t quite put together all the pieces to win a Pac-12 division, less yet the conference – and for any team to come out of the Pac-12 and make the playoffs, they’ll have to win the conference.

The plus side is that UCLA only has four preseason Top 25 teams on the schedule, and they don’t play Oregon during the regular season. If there was a schedule that was built for Mora to take the next step with this team, it’s this year’s.
