QB Tyler Stewart is no Cody Fajardo, but he looked good in the opener.

“I was very pleased with the way Tyler Stewart played,” Nevada coach Brian Polian told the school’s official website.  “I thought he took great control of the football and made great decisions in the run game. I liked his energy.”

But now it gets a lot tougher.

Nevada’s next two games are at Arizona and Texas A&M, and there’s little reason to think the Wolf Pack will give either team a solid test. However, Nevada did give the Wildcats a scare last season before losing 35-28 in Tucson. The Wolf Pack have opened as 10.5 point underdogs against Arizona.

Nevada scored touchdowns on all three of its opening three drives to open a 21-0 lead midway through the second quarter and the defense did the rest. Redshirt freshman SS Asauni Rufus tallied a career-high and game-high 12 tackles in his first start.
