The ACC conference and its players turned in some nice numbers in week one and it’s time to rank those players down from 10-to-1!

Is anyone else excited that football is back and in full swing? Me too!

More from ACC

Even though the first couple weeks of the season are usually set aside to play the cupcakes and lower division schools of the football world; all teams have to roll out and produce on the field, and produce they did. Taking a look at the results and the key contributors from each contest, it is appropriate to now rank the top 10 players from the opening weekend of college football in the ACC.

There were no shortage of impact performers from Florida State to Clemson to Georgia Tech to Pittsburgh, but the list can only include 10 players. And unfortunately, the reigning ACC Player of the Year will not be on the list after Pitt running back James Conner was lost for the season with a torn MCL during the Panthers win over Youngstown State.

Keeping Conner in mind, it was a performance in the early weeks of the 2013 season that put the Pitt Panther on the grid and continued to motivate him on his journey to gathering a handful of accolades in his sophomore season in 2014, so the early season games cannot be understated no matter the opponent. You just never know what the outcome could be.

The best part from the weekend is that players you wouldn’t associate with game-defining moments made the list and some breakout performances could result in players becoming household names by the end of the month.

Here are the top 10 players from the ACC in Week 1.
