Dalvin Cook ran wild in Florida State’s win over South Florida and is the key to a fourth straight ACC title.

The Florida State Seminoles improved to 2-0 on the young season and it was because of the efforts of sophomore running back Dalvin Cook who ran for a career-high 266 yards and three touchdowns on 30 carries in the 34-14 win.

Cook had a rough offseason after he was accused of hitting a woman outside a Tallahassee bar in the summer but was exonerated and his indefinite suspension from the team was lifted. Cook had an impressive start to the season with 156 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the opener against Texas State and now he’s the nation’s leading rusher capable of being the reason Florida State wins a fourth straight ACC title.

Florida State has concerns at quarterback where Everett Golson didn’t complete a pass until the second quarter before finishing 14-of-26 for 163 yards and a touchdown but Golson didn’t have to do much when Cook was capable of doing everything himself.

The nation’s No. 2 running back recruit behind Leonard Fournette last year is the best running back to play for Jimbo Fisher at Florida State and is on a path that should see him finish his career as one of the best running backs in program history.

If Florida State is going to hold off the likes of Clemson, Georgia Tech and whoever else rises up in the ACC to challenge the perennial powers, Cook will have to have more performances like the one he had on Saturday afternoon and he’s more than capable of doing just that.
