Laremy Tunsil to miss second straight game amid NCAA investigation
The Ole Miss Rebels will be without All-SEC left tackle Laremy Tunsil for a second straight game due to an ongoing NCAA investigation.
Things are beginning to get awfully interesting for Laremy Tunsil and Ole Miss after the stud left tackle was benched for a second straight game as an NCAA investigation into his contact with agents continues.

Tunsil’s stepfather accused the top NFL Draft prospect of receiving gifts and having improper contact with agents in the summer. Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze said he has yet to hear from the NCAA and has said they have cooperated fully with the investigation.
Tunsil sat out the Rebels’ opener against Tennessee-Martin last week in what Ole Miss head coach called a precautionary measure. They didn’t need the potential top-five draft pick to roll up 76 points on UT-Martin and should have no problem getting a win against Fresno State.
However, things will get dicey next week when the Rebels travel to Tuscaloosa to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide. After beating Alabama last year, the Tide will be seeking revenge and have arguably the nation’s best front seven, so if Tunsil is held out once again as the investigation continues, it will be a crushing blow to the Rebels and their hopes of a second straight win over Alabama.
If I’m Freeze and the Ole Miss athletic department, I call up the NCAA offices and see if I can get an expedited ruling or decision from them so I have some clarity moving forward.
