Rutgers wide receiver Leonte Carroo is suspended indefinitely as the football program deals with another headache.

We’re only two weeks into the college football season but it’s already been a long season for Rutgers and head coach Kyle Flood who have dealt with one headache after another.

The latest is the indefinite suspension of star wide receiver Leonte Carroo, according to NJ.com after he was involved in an incident outside the team’s field after the Scarlet Knights lost to Washington State, 37-34.

When Flood was asked to elaborate on the details surrounding the incident Carroo was involved in, Flood would not go into specifics, instead said there was an active investigation underway and kept quiet on the nature of the investigation.

So that’s certainly an interesting development.

Carroo was already suspended once this season when he was one of five players suspended for the first half of the opener against Norfolk State. He is easily the best player on the team and holds the program’s all-time touchdown receptions record with 22 career scores.

He has seven catches for 181 yards and three touchdowns this year after having 55 receptions for 1,086 yards and 10 touchdowns last year.

His future with Rutgers looks tenuous at best and when he declares for the NFL Draft and goes through the Combine and pre-draft visits with teams, he’ll undoubtedly have to explain the actions that led to his suspensions at Rutgers and convince the NFL he’s not a problem child who is too risky to draft.
