The biggest storyline from this game was the play of Clemson Tiger quarterback Deshaun Watson who completed 19-26 passes for 248 yards and three touchdowns. His lone blemish on the day was an interception but that did not seem to slow down the potent Clemson offensive attack. Charone Peake led the way in receiving for the Clemson Tigers, snagging four passes for 86 yards and two touchdowns including a 59-yard reception that was his longest of the day.
After what was slated to be a promising season for the Cardinals, the tables have turned, at least for the moment. Losing their first two contests by a combined 10 points, the program’s last defeat was at the hands of Auburn by a 31-24 score. Quarterback Lamar Jackson has struggled throwing for 268 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions on the season.
If there has been a bright spot so far this season it has been the emergence of tight end Micky Crum, who has caught eight passes for 122 yards and a touchdown. His emergence has provided the Cardinals with a spark in what has been a difficult season to this point.
