Georgia State Panthers At Oregon Ducks

The Line: Oregon -48.5
After a heartbreaking loss to the Michigan State Spartans in college football’s biggest game so far in 2015, the Ducks come home to regroup against FCS cupcake Georgia State. This will undoubtedly prove to be a scintillating match-up, given that Oregon loves to run up the score on weaker opponents. The Panthers are coming off a good, solid win against New Mexico State, but unfortunately this game is all about a paycheck for them. Watch the game on the Pac-12 Network, 10:00AM, pacific time, Saturday morning.
Keys To The Game:
Oregon’s Vernon Adams is playing with a broken finger, so look for the Ducks to run the ball all over the Panthers defense. I expect Adams to play only a quarter or two before resting, and for the Ducks to rotate running backs into the game as they pile on the points. After their defeat to Michigan State, they know that they need to impress the college football playoff committee the rest of the year, and that includes some bad sportsmanship against the likes of Georgia State.
The Prediction:
Given the idiotic set-up of having five power conferences and only four spots to get into the playoffs, college football sets itself up for these ridiculous games. A team like Oregon has no business playing Georgia State, but if they do play, you would expect an amateur sports league to emphasize good sportsmanship. Instead, a team like Oregon knows that it must run up the score to impress people who will probably never actually watch this game. Look for the Ducks to stomp the Panthers easily, desperately trying to score as much as possible. The final score? Oregon 62, Georgia State 7.
