Kliff Kingsbury on Bret Bielema: ‘He just got his ass kicked’
When you talk as much as Bret Bielema, it’s not surprising to see coaches give him a taste of his own medicine and that’s what Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury did after beating his Arkansas team.
Bret Bielema is not living up to the lofty preseason expectations that accompanied his Arkansas team after an encouraging 7-6 season last year and a ‘borderline erotic’ win over Texas in the Texas bowl last year.

After the Hogs lost to Toledo last week in Little Rock despite being a three-touchdown favorite, Bielema tried to get his team ready to play a Texas Tech team they beat up last year.
Well, Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury wasn’t having any of that. Behind three touchdowns from Red Raiders quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Texas Tech knocked off Arkansas by the score of 35-24 to hand the Bielema and Arkansas their second straight loss. They clearly do not look like the team that was projected to be a player in the SEC West this year.
As if the loss wasn’t bad enough for Bielema, Kingsbury threw some salt in the wound with what may be the early leader for the quote of the year, via Kurt Voigt from the AP.
It’s hard to argue with Kingsbury who has his team sitting pretty at 3-0 and playing much better than many anticipated entering the year. Meanwhile, Bielema may want to stop running his mouth because it’s got him in trouble the last two weeks.
