Memphis Tigers pulls off crazy trick play for insane TD (Video)
In their game against Bowling Green, the Memphis Tigers executed a trick play for the ages.
In college football, you always have to expect the unexpected. That was the case for Bowling Green as they were the victims of a brilliant flea flicker play courtesy of the Memphis Tigers. This was not your average flea flicker as quarterback Paxton Lynch handed the ball off on a jet sweep to begin the play. The receiver then handed the ball back to the opposite receiver, who handed it back to Lynch.
It was at that point that he unleashed his cannon arm and threw it deep to receiver Tevin Jones, who managed to slip by the defensive coverage and score the touchdown. The Tigers ended up winning the contest by a 44-41 score and improve to 2-0 on the young season, good enough for second place in the American Athletic Conference.

The flea flicker was part of a tremendous day for Lynch who finished the contest with 386 yards and three touchdowns.
I was amazed by the play when I saw it. Very rarely does that type of play work, especially when you consider the defensive pressure that could be coming due to the length of time it takes the play to develop. Everything has to go right in order for the play to work, and luckily for the Tigers it did there.
In what has been another exciting weekend on the college gridiron, Memphis provided us with something out of the ordinary. It certainly made the game memorable and one has to wonder if the Tigers will have anything up their sleeves come next weekend.
