Stanford upset the No. 6 USC Trojans as the Cardinal pulled off stunner that they always seem to do each year.

The wolves are going to be coming for USC head coach Steve Sarkisian after his Trojans lost at home to the unranked Stanford Cardinal, 41-31 to suffer their first loss of the year.

Stanford always seems to pull off a stunner every year, just ask the Oregon Ducks who have been victimized by the Cardinal a couple of times in recent years to take the Pac-12 North.

Sarkisian and USC looked like they were on their way to a win against the team that was a 10-point underdog, but Shaw said there’s no such thing as an upset in big-time college football after the game on the ABC broadcast to Todd McShay.

However, after Stanford lost to Northwestern in the season opener the expectations were lowered greatly for the Cardinal who were led by quarterback Kevin Hogan who played the game of his life, completing 18-of-23 passes for 279 yards and two touchdowns and executed a flawless four-minute drill late to clinch the game.

He battled through an injury early in the game and Remound Wright added three rushing touchdowns and Christian McCaffrey ran for a game-high 115 yards behind an absolutely dominant Stanford offensive line. Stanford controlled the line of scrimmage and the time of possession with 39:29 compared to 20:31 for the Trojans.

For USC, this is a “here we go again” moment for a program that has shot themselves in the foot several times in recent years and the seat under Sarkisian is at an all-time high temperature.
