Loser: Maty Mauk, Missouri Tigers Quarterback

The Missouri Tigers may have won their game against the UConn Huskies (barely), but it was Mizzou starting quarterback Maty Mauk who really came out on losing end of this game.

Mauk had a completely forgettable performance (following up from some rather bleak games in the first two weeks) and began to hear the boo-birds at his home stadium. Head coach Gary Pinkel even pulled Mauk from the game in the 4th quarter and gave freshman sensation Drew Lock a few snaps.

Mauk was questioned following the game about how being booed by his home fans made him feel.

Correct answer? “Hey, I didn’t have my best game and fans expect more. They’re passionate, and I respect their right to express their opinions.”

Maty’s answer? “If that’s how they feel, that’s how they feel…That’s why they’re in the stands and I’m on the field.”

We’ll just see if Maty is “on the field” for Missouri’s next game.
