Once you get past the sunglasses and 5 o’clock shadow, you’ll realize that Kingsbury is a pretty darn competitive guy, rather than the laid back character his appearance suggests.

I know people close to Kingsbury or that follow the program closely already knew, but last week he showed everyone how competitive he can be. Of course, he was irked by Bret Bielema’s comments, which many other coaches would’ve brushed off. However, Kingsbury took the insult to heart and claimed to have “kicked Arkansas’ ass.”

That kind of passion and energy clearly translated to the field for the Red Raiders. Their players played hard and fast, and that was because of Kingsbury.

His competitive drive will definitely help against TCU, but what makes Kingsbury special is his offense. His offense ranks fourth in total yards, second in passing and second in third down conversions. The Red Raiders are creating tons of offense, consistently moving the chains and that’s a formula for success.

Kingsbury’s passion and offensive prowess should help will his team to one of the biggest upsets of college football thus far.
