Arizona LB Scooby Wright will return vs. UCLA
Arizona All-American linebacker Scooby Wright will make his return to the Wildcats lineup for the game vs. UCLA, three weeks after knee surgery.
Scooby Wright will return to the lineup for the Arizona Wildcats on Saturday against the UCLA Bruins, according to ESPN’s Brett McMurphy, after the All-American linebacker was injured in the opener against UTSA. Wright underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus.
Wright led the nation in tackles with 163, tackles for loss with 29, forced fumbles with 6 and was third in sacks with 14 last year as a sophomore when he won the Nagurski, Outland and Lombardi, all given to the nation’s top defender en route to being a consensus All-American.
Needless to say the return of Wright is great news for Rich Rodriguez and Arizona who host No. 9 UCLA and freshman phenom quarterback Josh Rosen and last year’s Pac-12 rushing champ Paul Perkins. While Arizona is getting healthier with the return of their star linebacker, the Bruins are coping with the loss of their star linebacker Myles Jack who suffered a season-ending injury earlier in the week.
This Pac-12 South showdown could be the game of the week and College GameDay is in attendance and it’ll get the primetime treatment on ABC. The winner of the game will be in the driver’s seat for the division title with the Wildcats looking to repeat and the return of Wright could be the difference.
