Two teams headed in opposite directions, Texas A&M vs Arkansas is one of the most important SEC West games of the Week 4 college football schedule.

When Texas A&M and Arkansas meet in Dallas Saturday night, the Southwest Showdown will feature two teams headed in very different directions. Of course, the SEC West clash is the conference opener for both, which means the direction of the 2015 college football season can change quickly for either.

The Aggies are 3-0 with impressive victories over Arizona State, Ball State and Nevada by an average score of 46-23. An annually explosive offense, Texas A&M has averaged 487.7 yards per game this season with unexpected balance: 260.7 passing yards and 227 rushing yards per contest.

A&M has also played well on defense, having allowed just 337 yards of total offense per game thus far, thanks in large part to defensive end Myles Garrett, who leads the nation with 5.5 sacks.

Arkansas, however, has now dropped two games in a row to non-conference opponents Toledo and Texas Tech. The Hogs are known for their powerful rushing attack and stingy defense, and have gained 476.3 yards per game – but more than 300 has come through the air. Last week against Texas Tech, the Razorbacks surrendered 486 total yards and did not force a punt in the 35-24 loss.

But, despite their success and failures thus far, the SEC West is still up for grabs for either team and it should be a hard-fought neutral site matchup in Dallas.
