The Contenders
6. Wisconsin (3-1)
Wisconsin has decided to challenge itself with huge Week 1 showdowns in recent years. We credit the Badgers for taking on Alabama. Wisconsin stayed close for a half and then got blasted 35-17.
Otherwise, Wisconsin has manhandled inferior foes. Hawaii served as the most recent fodder 28-0. The loss of running back Corey Clement and a young offensive line has crippled the usually devastating ground game. The Badgers entered the weekend with the last ranked rushing attack in the Big Ten. Taiwan Deal picked up the slack with 147 yards and 2 TD vs the Rainbows. Joel Stave has turned in one of his more consistent stretches of football during his Wisconsin career.
A wide open Big Ten West still runs through Madison.
