The college football rankings will see a major shakeup at the top after top 10 teams Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Georgia and UCLA lost on Saturday.

The first weekend of October was one for upsets across college football as four teams in the top eight all lost on Saturday, with Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Georgia and UCLA seeing their dreams of an undefeated season go down in flames.

With their losses, Florida, Clemson, Alabama and Arizona State all helped their stock with wins over those aforementioned four teams. But the top 10 could see more madness after No. 1 Ohio State, No. 2 Michigan State and No. 11 Florida State all won their games on the final play of their games.

Could the defending national champions and undefeated Buckeyes fall from the top spot in this week’s Top 25?

No, they won’t. Not after Ole Miss lost to Florida in embarrassing fashion, because I think they were the only serious contender to usurp them in the top spot. But I don’t think the Spartans are so lucky and fall out of the second spot down to No. 4 behind TCU and Baylor who look like they’re on a collision course for their regular season finale that could decide the Big 12 champion.
