Dalvin Cook has 94-yard TD run, leaves game with hamstring strain
Dalvin Cook is one of the best running backs in the nation and he proved that again on Saturday with a 94-yard run against Wake Forest.
This may be the year of the running back in college football with players like Leonard Fournette, Nick Chubb, Derrick Henry, Ezekiel Elliott, Royce Freeman and Paul Perkins. And Florida State Seminoles sophomore tailback Dalvin Cook is right there with them.
Cook began the game against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons with the third-longest run in program history with a 94-yard spring to the house to put the Seminoles up early on the overmatched Demon Deacons.
But that could be the last highlight we see from Cook today because he left with a hamstring injury after and is considered doubtful to return to the game.
This is huge, not because they could be in danger against Wake Forest, but because hamstring injuries can linger and with a special talent like Cook that’s the one of the last things you want to happen. It’s smart and safe to hold him out in a game against Wake Forest, but they’ll need him healthy when they get in the heart of ACC play if they’re going to win a fourth straight ACC championship and get to the College Football Playoff.
