On the Virginia Tech front, he took an official visit to the program Friday before committing Sunday. He is expected to enroll in January.
This commitment marks Virginia Tech’s first four-star commitment in the class and No,. 16 in total. The class ranks No. 38 nationally and No. 7 in the ACC per the 247Sports Team Rankings with Ladler marking the first commitment from Florida in the class.
Cornerback seems to be a highly-valued position in this group, as Ladler joins three-star recruits Troy Pride Jr. (Greer. Greer, SC) and Myles Wolfolk (Upper Marlboro, MD . Dr. Henry Wise) in that distinction.
Ladler should bring a physical element to the Virginia Tech secondary as he does a nice job of identifying the ballcarrier and closing in on his man to make the tackle. He should help solidify a Virginia Tech defense that currently ranks No. 65 in the country in total defense with 1,777 total yards allowed to this point. In particular, he should be able to help strengthen a run defense that is allowing 197.4 yards per contest so far this season
Virginia Tech s quietly building an explosive defensive backfield for the future, one that has the potential to be among the elite of the ACC in a few short years.
