For the second week in a row, Louisville’s Lamar Jackson won the ACC Rookie of the Week accolade Monday.

Jackson proved to be a key part of the Cardinals’ offensive attack, rushing for 121 yards and one touchdown while throwing for 103 yards and a touchdown. The 100-yard performance on the ground was his third 100-yard game of the season as he performed well in his second straight start edging North Carolina State 20-13.

The touchdowns came relatively early in the game as he broke free for a 68-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter, giving Louisville a 7-0 lead. He then found receiver Devante Peete for a 20-yard touchdown to put his team up 14-0.

On the year, Jackson has 598 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions through the air while he has amassed 435 yards and five touchdowns on the ground, averaging 6.6 yards per carry.

The Cardinals now sit fourth in the ACC Atlantic Division and look to climb up the rankings as they are the beneficiaries of a bye week, before they pack their bags and travel to No. 12 Florida State.

In what has been a difficult season for Louisville, they seem to be turning it around and appear to have a tremendous offensive weapon in Jackson.  The most fascinating thing about this is that he is only a freshman, and he will certainly be a player to watch in the future.
