Looking ahead to Week 6 of the 2015 college football season, several ranked and favored teams face tough tests. What five squads should be on upset alert?
We are about half way through the 2015 college football season and still twenty teams remain undefeated. That number is sure to dwindle by the end of this of this weekend. Just last week alone, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, UCLA, Georgia, West Virginia, and Kansas State all suffered losses and dropped from the list of the unbeaten. While playoff hopes become dimmer for those that lost, it’s the perfect teams that need to be just that on Saturday to avoid joining them.

Both Ohio State and Michigan State narrowly avoided being upset last Saturday as the number one and two programs in the nation struggled to put away fellow Big Ten schools Indiana and Purdue. The Buckeyes and the Spartans are clearly at the top of their conference while Northwestern and Iowa work their way up as challengers by continuing their winning ways in the first half of the season.
Something eventually has to give in the Big 12 as four teams still remain undefeated. Now that we are firmly in conference play, the task of a flawless season becomes daunting. With no conference championship game, TCU, Baylor, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State will fight among themselves to decide who gets to the final four in January.
The SEC looks to remain wide open with Florida starting 5-0 while East favorites Georgia took a beating in Athens against Alabama. With the SEC West so competitive, it’s hard to see anyone coming out unscathed. Playoff homes remain alive for any team in the Southeastern Conference even with one loss.
So who faces the toughest task in week 6? Let’s get right down to it.
