Miami at Florida State (-9)
When: Saturday at 8:00 ET
I recommended taking Miami under 6.5 wins before the season and feel good about that at the moment. Things aren’t going well for Al Golden at Miami and I think he’s on one of the hotter seats in America right now. However, I think this is the time for back Golden and the Hurricanes to play a close game against their biggest rival.
Florida State is undefeated but barely survived against Wake Forest last week. They only scored 14 points at Boston College the game before but their defense pitched a shutout. I simply don’t trust quarterback Everett Golson and this current Seminoles offense to cover over a touchdown spread. Running back Dalvin Cook is battling a hamstring injury and is listed as question. Even if he plays he may not be 100 percent.
Miami has the better quarterback in his game in Brad Kaaya. His team needs to step up and I think they will after being humbled by Cincinnati on national TV. If Miami can’t excited about playing this game then they never will. Take Miami with the points and don’t be surprised if they pull out the outright upset to get revenge from last season’s close loss.
Pick: Miami (+9)
Next: California at Utah
