With both the Razorbacks and Crimson Tide 1-1 in conference play following big SEC wins, Alabama vs Arkansas is the most important game of the week in the SEC West.Â
After being highly ranked in the preseason, but losing three of the first four games of the season, the Arkansas Razorbacks have been one of the most disappointing teams in the nation this year. However, the Hogs picked up a huge win – and some momentum – last week against Tennessee by beating the Vols 24-20 in Knoxville.

Alabama has also suffered some disappointment this year with an early loss to Ole Miss, but by dominating Georgia 38-10 last week in Athens, the Crimson Tide is back on track and an SEC Championship and College Football Playoff spot are still very attainable goals.
Last week’s success give both the Tide and the Razorbacks a 1-1 record in SEC play, which raises the stakes of this week’s matchup in Tuscaloosa. Alabama is a heavy favorite according to Las Vegas oddsmakers, and rightfully so.
But, with 275 rushing yards last week against Tennessee, including a third-straight 150-yard performance by Alex Collins, Arkansas has found its running game. If the Hogs can run the football to move the sticks and keep the clock running (something that will be tough to do against one of the most talented defensive fronts in the nation), Arkansas may have a chance to steal a victory in the fourth quarter.
