The Illinois Fighting Illini are looking to upset the Iowa Hawkeyes and wide receiver Malik Turner is helping the cause with a brilliant one-handed catch.
If you’re a wide receiver and not making a one-handed catch every week, well, you’re a bit of an underachiever because it seems like these plays we’d see very rarely are now routine plays.
Enter Illinois wide receiver Malik Turner who has had a problem with drops this season and isn’t yet a household name, but the Illini sophomore turned in one of the best plays of the day so far with a one-handed beauty to set up the Illini to take the lead on Iowa.

The catch went for 34 yards and gave the Illini some momentum in their effort to upset the undefeated and No. 22 Hawkeyes. They took a 7-6 lead and had a goal line stand to keep Iowa from retaking the lead. However, at the time of publishing, Iowa was able to get in the end zone and make it 13-7 so we’ll see if Turner has anymore highlight-reel catches in him today because the Illini may need it if they’re going to pull off theupset.
