Leonard Fournette was bottled up in the first half but he exploded in a big way in the second half.
Just like last week when Leonard Fournette was slowed down in the first half, the LSU super sophomore tailback exploded in a big way in the second half. Fournette was held well below his average in the first half against Eastern Michigan before taking the first carry 75 yards to the house.
This week Fournette waited until the second play of the second half to bust loose when he raced to the end zone for an 87-yard touchdown and outran a pair of South Carolina Gamecocks defensive backs in the process. He’s not human, is he?

The run put Fournette over the 1,000-yard mark in just the fifth game, tying a mark held by nine other backs to hit the century mark by the fifth game.

In fact, he’s about to pass his season mark from last year when he ran for 1,034 yards as a freshman. He’s the Heisman front-runner by a wide margin and he’s still got a chance for a fourth straight game with at least 200 yards rushing. He has 143 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries as LSU leads South Carolina 24-10.
