Oregon State isn’t working with much, and it showed against the Arizona Wildcats this weekend. Seth Collins is still clearly learning, and needs to use the receivers he has at hand. The team will essentially go as far as Collins, and it’s not looking like it’ll go very far.

Arizona’s defense is not good. They made a few adjustments for Oregon State, and saw great improvement, but this was a game that Arizona could have vulnerable. The fact that the Beavers were only able to put up seven on this defense, should be about.

He left the game with a knee injury, which left Oregon State in a lull. They had a pretty decent defense going into this game, and forced Arizona to take a few field goals, but the Wildcats were just too much to handle.

With all that’s gone on in the Pac-12 this year, it’s not likely that Oregon State can win a conference game. They’re just not there yet. They’re working with a really young roster, which means their two-deep is scarce with talent and experience. Give Gary Anderson a year or two and we might be talking business.
